Just talked to a friend of mine that works at Buckingham Branch RR and he said they have the green light to move 614 this weekend. He didn't have times yet. Can anyone from 614 group confirm? I just had knee surgery and can't drive yet. |

I'm not confirming nor denying the 614 moving this coming weekend but please allow me to urge my fellow steam lovers to respect the railroads property and should you end up witnessing a dead in tow or an under steam move stay on public property and stay WELL OUT OF THE WAY. Trust me, it's hard enough getting the railroads to be willing to agree to these moves and the last thing we need is people trespassing all over the railroad's property. Please cooperate. Glad to report that the whole move went according to plan without a hitch. 614 ran cool as a cucumber the whole way. Sincere thanks go to the BB RR team and the NS team and the RJD team for a job well done. Onward & Upward. Ross Rowland |

Hi all It took a while for it too finally happen, but CSX and the NS finally got the job done.. Now the 2nd phase can take place, by the Strasburg RR,, getting the locomotive ready for all repairs, and also being brought up to the current FRA, standards, for return operation. If possible it would be good to see updates, on the locomotive in the shop, by the railroad. We all know that the Strasburg shop has a good standing, and there shop practices are ( A # 1) . The shop at Strasburg, has a big job on its hands, with the 614, I am not certain but it might be the biggest job the shop has handled, please correct me, if I am wrong... This coming October my friend and I plan on doing the shop tour, to see the progress made on the locomotive.. thanks Pat. |

Oh yeah, I can only imagine! PSR really has ruined everything good.Gone are the days when one can call up the local Class I, drop a name or two, and expect a special move on one's own schedule, for free. Glad to see a successful move in the books, and am looking forward to all of the exciting updates from the Strasburg shop! Denny |
