Post subject:  Entertrainment Junction in Ohio has closed / sold
You can find more info by searching online - but Entertrainment Junction has closed. I got to visit once - was a pretty cool railroad themed attraction with the "worlds largest indoor model railroad" as well as lots of activities for kids and families.

The layout was G Scale and very detailed with lots of animation. My favorite part of the layout was the model of an old amusement park in Cincinnati.

My favorite layout will always be the Choo Choo barn - but this was a larger and more complete attraction and it's sad that it closed - but the layout itself has been sold to a group in Chattanooga who hopes to open a "new transportation museum" - I'm not sure if that group has any relationship with TVRM or the Chattanooga Choo Choo. I haven't been to TVRM in a few years and I know they have expanded their complex.

You're a little behind on the news.

After a late October report that the complex had been sold to a religious organization, Firecrown Media reported on Dec. 27th that it had acquired the assets of EnterTrainMent Junction and was relocating it to Chattanooga, Tennessee:

Yes - indeed I am! I just heard about it and since it hadn’t been posted here - I thought I would mention it.

I’m glad I got to visit - it was a pretty unique place.

I hate to see Entertrainment Junction go. It was a unique venue that struck an almost perfect balance of family friendly entertainment for all ages and educational value. The layout itself was spectacular and featured some of the best modeling I had ever seen. Unlike most G scale layouts, this was highly prototypical and almost 100% of the structures were scratch built. I feel bad for the highly skilled modelers who have to watch their creations being shipped out of state.

Really hoping Firecrown Media can do this justice.

I understand your perspective, but this is a unique situation. Typically, with a prively owned model railroad, whatever gets built will eventually be torn down and destroyed. The same could be said for any large privately owned collections of railroad artifacts. No one lives forever and you can't take it with you, so everyting will keep changing hands until the end of time. Whoever worked on anything should take colace in that the work will live on, even if not near them. I have some friends in Maryland that contributed to the layout.
