Isn't this branch just used for rail bikes and a couple Christmas trains?

I can't find the article that stated it, but the one mentioned that it was the section that runs parallel to Route 9-N, which is actually quite busy. They're running multiple trains a day 3-5 days a week. The SC&N is quite a bustling, vibrant little operation.

The RR was established by Raven Rail, they own the ALCO Plant Switcher S-1 #5 and also former Staten Island S-2 821 which is now painted D&H and numbered 3021.

Corinth is at the south end just north of Saratoga.

The Railbikes are operated out of North Creek at the north end by Revolution Rail.

Now that I've figured out "track tampering" doesn't mean they want somebody to surface, line and dress the track, I'm curious.

They said it appeared to be an attempt to derail the train. Does anyone know what was done? I see a photo of a switch, did somebody throw the switch? Was the switch locked? I'm curious if this was maybe just kids messing around or a deliberate act of sabotage? Then again, maybe they don't want details to be public.

Bored local field office of the fbi making a federal case put of what seems to be idiots who trespassed and opened a switch... Sure it's a federal crime, but also chargeable under state and local....

Kind of what I'm guessing too. Also wondering the age of said idiot(s), young kids who think it would be funny and don't understand the consequences or somebody with a grudge?
Also curious as to how they were able to throw it? Unlocked or did they have to smash the lock? If unlocked, could be a kid just playing. Smashing the lock first would seem to be a more malicious intent.

Apparently even on class one railroads the switches aren't always locked https://youtu.be/TEY1IhGbtdo It is always amusing all the railroad equipment that's left unsecured out there some of it witj really nasty stuff in it.
