Saw this on the internet: https://www.flickr.com/photos/23711298@N07/35169426320/ The New Hope Valley is a neat operation and has their own saddletanker (number 17). The above photo was taken about 5 and a half years ago and the car has one slight error. Did you spot it? The reporting marks of SLRX are for the St. Louis Refrigerator Car Company (the outfit that shipped Anheuser Busch products). The Swift Refrigerator reporting marks were actually SRLX. You may note on the end of the car that the reporting marks are correctly recorded! Just wondered if this has ever been noticed and made right? This is a really nicely preserved freight car. Les |

Ironically, Tyco used to have a Swift Boxcar with their -0-4-0T set. I had one of those when I was six or seven; broke the front hook and horn coupler. Tried to fix it with Elmer's and got the predictable result. My uncle, who was an electronic technician tried to fix it, but couldn't get all the glue out of all the wrong places. It became a static display. Sometimes, life imitates art. Very nice display. |
