Rockport, Maine: On June 4, 2022, Rockport Masons will hold a fundraising dinner to support cosmetic restoration of Rockports's Vulcan-built 0-4-0ST steam locomotive. In March, 2022, Rockports's Vulcan was removed from its plinth at Marine Park, Rockport Harbor and transported to Rockport Steel where it is being cosmetically restored. Restoration efforts include the fabrication of a new cab for the locomotive. In addition to the fund-raising dinner, Legacy Rockport is soliciting donations to defray the cost of repairing this locomotive. • [no name] 3, 0-4-0ST (Vulcan Iron Works, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania 3380 / 1923), 24 inch gauge Penobscot Bay Pilot: https://www.penbaypilot.com/article/pub ... ter/160752 Legacy Rockport: https://rockportmaine.gov/index.asp?SEC ... The Rockport loco is 36” gauge not 24” as stated in the first post. Glad to see it is getting some attention. New cab and saddle tank look great. Water tank looks like it might be made out of aluminum…. |
