Owned by the City of Barrie, Ontario, CN 1351 has been on loan to the Simcoe County Museum, Midhurst, Ontario since 2008 where it is currently stored. Recently, the City of Barrie elected to transfer ownership of the locomotive to the Simcoe County Museum instead of possibly restoring CN 1351 to its former home at the former Grand Trunk Railway Station in the Allandale district of Barrie.

Overall this is probably a good turn of events. There are good ways and bad ways to present a static steam locomotive, as readers on this board know. Let's hope she's placed under covered, scaled of rust, liberally oiled and greased, and the stack capped. 1531 is a great example of the work-a-day steam which plied rural Canada until 1960.
