As a boy in the late 1960s, Richard Glueck vacationed with his family in Maine, where he made friends with the railroaders at the nearby Grand Trunk station. You mentioned that the South Paris station had a set of lower quadrant semaphores to control the block, but the photos show upper quadrant signals. Of course, the photos were a bit later than your original venture to the depot so perhaps they were changed. Also, these semaphores were block signals, not train order signals, which is interesting in its own right. Les |

The signal designation error is mine, Les. In the photo essay you'll see a Geep with the semaphores in the distance. The station no longer has blades, but the semaphores remain. |
