This site comes up as "Not Secure" on my computer. Does anyone actually manage this site much? Is it truly secure? Just wondering. |

It shows that way in the address bar of my chrome browser window also. I'm assuming it's just because the site is running as http:// instead of https:// on the server. I don't think there's a problem with that, since we're not doing any online commerce here. |

https:// means the data sent between your browser and the hosting server is encrypted. With http:// the traffic is sent over the network in plain text. There has been a long time push by the big browsers to get as much traffic to https as possible for a number of reasons. IMHO, the value encryption provides that is often over looked by many is it ensures the data is complete - received by the browser as it was sent by the server. 15 years ago I helped to run a server that served, free for all, completely public, government produced weather data. Google would not ingest the data until we put it behind https, because they wanted to confirm they were getting every byte correctly. It was the right thing to do. It's a bit more complex to run https on a server and costs a bit more because you have to purchase a digital certificate from a known 3rd party that has to be updated on a regular basis. Personally, for me, it's no big deal for RYPN. |

I just use a unique password for this site. I do that for all of the sites I do business with. Brian |
