About a month ago it was reported that TVRM would begin evaluating possible candidates for restoration soon. Has anything been taken into the shop yet? Any preliminary results?
John Craft is reporting that TVRM decided to start a long-term project to restore their 1891 CofG 4-4-0 No. 349. See John's site at the Link below for details; select the News page and scroll down to October 15.
Yes, but that's a volunteer group project. The everyday crew was to decide what locomotive was the most cost-effective candidate between 630, 10, and 4501.
Andrew:
I haven't heard of anything moving in yet. The last C&C excursion was just over a week ago, and 610 will be running on weekends through Thanksgiving, I think. The shop crew has also been pretty busy helping Scott Lindsay prepare the drivers for 1522 and 2719.
Once 610 has been withdrawn and prepped for next year, something should start happening.
JAC
