Post subject:  The other scarce freight car....

beside stock cars, and one that was far more common, is the plain old ordinary 2-pocket 50-ton coal hopper. Even 25 years ago, they were as common as dirt. Just try to find one now.<br><br>

howie, i think we ended up with an N&W H-9, which is best as i can tell, one of the oldest hoppers of its kind left<br>(now if i can just keep some of the guys from loading ballast into it)<br>
