From the Minnesota Transportation Museum Facebook page: MTM is pleased to announce the acquisition of CF7 MNTX 454, former GLLX 2627 which last served on the Colebrookdale Railroad in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Originally built as Santa Fe 21, an EMD F3A, the unit will serve as a major parts source to restore MTM’s Great Northern F7A 454A to operation. The unit is currently en-route from its former home to MTM’s Jackson Street Roundhouse near downtown Saint Paul. Once all necessary parts are secured from the unit, the remainder will be scrapped. Update: The Locomotive has arrived in St. Paul. |

For the few that care: Sold by ATSF to Midwest Coal Handling, then Clinton Terminal RR in Clinton, NC until sale to GLLX and move to Colebrookdale ca. end of 2015. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/LocoPi ... x?id=60285 |

Just as a point of clarification, I don't believe it ever "served" on the Colebrookdale, as I'm pretty sure it was never in operable condition to run there. |

Wow! This is great news. The GN f-unit in question was on display for years at Bandana Square in St. Paul, MN, dressed in Northern Pacific colors due to Bandana being the former NP Como Shops. I look forward to seeing her back in GN paint and running again. |
