Reading Transit & Light #182

Listing this as a reference more than anything. Reading #182, a Brill product, and another trolley bungalow. The car is missing the bulk of one platform and has multiple penetrations in both sides. There are some in-service photos of the car in Arcadia’s Reading Trains and Trolleys. Currently used as part of a cabin along the Maiden Creek.

Just found an interesting rather long color video of trolleys of various kinds running in Reading, PA.
Seems quite a few bodies have survived over the years.

For reference, these are all of the Reading cars I know of that are still extant and not in preservation. Most of these are obviously on private property. So please use your heads and be respectful.

Reading Transit & Light #500(b?), believed to be a Wason built Birney. 1011 Trolley Rd., Mohrsville, PA.

Reading Transit & Light #511, part of Hotel Fiesol, Skippack, PA.

Oley Valley Railway #302 (left) and Reading Transit & Light #95. Mill Road at Fieldstone Lane, Oley Township, PA.

Reading Transit & Light #182 is mentioned above. Unconfirmed is Oley Valley #307, last reported near French Creek State Park.

Reading (United Traction?) #72 is in private hands near Glenmoore, PA. There was also supposedly at least one more Reading car with #511 before it was relocated, first to the Trolley Stop in Skippack, and later the Hotel Fiesol. Location is unknown.

Back around Christmas 1971, my college professors had me driving back roads in northern Berks County, making a thumbnail assessment of rural road conditions for an engineering study. Along one road I encountered what was evidently a fishing camp, alongside of some stream, that included both a Birney car and what appeared to be the body of a single truck snow sweeper. The sweeper looked somewhat like one of these:

Somewhere, I have an old-fashioned chemical photograph of those cars. Alas, what I definitely don't have is any recollection of exactly where these cars were, other than the fact that it was somewhere near Lenhartsville. Given their location alongside a creek, I'd not be surprised if neither car survived Hurricane Agnes, which inundated that region about six months later.
