An interesting bit of info on the AOTT website. A London & Port Stanley 40' steel boxcar, long a part of an art gallery, has been donated and moved to the Halton County Radial Railway, an electric museum west of Toronto. A gentleman by the name of Bob Weare arranged for the donation from the Whitby Station Gallery and then paid for the rather complicated move to HCRR. The boxcar was purchased by the L&PS from the New York Central after the Second World War to replace some worn out equipment. The box car has two large circular windows cut into one side which will have to be addressed, but otherwise appears to be in good condition. Thanks to Mr. Weare for this move, and for rescuing the historic car which he first saw some 50 years ago on the L&PS. Les |
