A quick question; how many museums out there have 50 or 55 ton open top two bay door hopper cars on their rosters (rib side, offset side or whatever)? Thanks!
midlandblb@cs.com |

The Whitewater Valley Railroad has former NKP 64370 (W&LE), built by ACF Huntington in 1947, which is a two bay 50 ton hopper. It became a NKP car in 1949 with the W&LE lease. We have had it since the early 1980's and have used it periodically for ballast movement, especially during our ISTEA track rehab. The car is painted in its NKP livery although it does not have the full reporting marks and data stencils yet.
Hope this is of interest,
David Farlow
rfarlow@bcaconsultants.com |
