Greetings: Yes, I am well aware that former Union Electric Co. #3, built by H.K.Porter Co. Inc. in 12/1946, c/n 8081 has been missing for quite some time (see postings by steaminfo of 11/30/12, 3/26/14 and 7/19/16). Judging by the fact that it hasn't turned up, it has probably been scrapped... I have spoken with folks from the National Museum of Transportation, Transport Museum Association, sent a letter and several emails to the former President of the St. Louis & Chain of Rocks Railroad Association and searched the area around where the Terminal Railroad Association shops used to stand at Brooklyn, IL; all for naught. However, since I am trying to finish up on the 2nd edition of "The Steam Locomotive Directory of North America", I'll give this one last try: does anyone out there know where this locomotive currently is, even if the answer is: scrapped? Thank you in advance for any help! Be well, J.David |

Hi David I was just wondering, are you coming out with an updated version of your Steam Directory? Thanks, Pat. |

J. David, An unrelated item to the missing loco but related to your new book: I rebuilt a locomotive circa 20 years ago and I found your original book had an error on this locomotive and wanted to make sure it was corrected this time around. This locomotive is 36" gauge, NOT standard gauge. Please correct the error. The error is repeated at steamlocomotive.info http://steamlocomotive.info/vlocomotive.cfm?Display=1387 The data at steamlocomotive.com is correct: http://steamlocomotive.com/lists/searchdb.php?str=B-MINE&country=USA This locomotive was built with a weight of 15 tons. Thanks! Adam |

Greetings: Pat: yes, I am working on a 2nd edition of "The Steam Locomotive Directory of North America" and have been, off and on, since before the first edition was published, over 30 years ago! Adam: yes, I now have the correct information on your locomotive and won't make that mistake again, thank you! Sandy: did you look behind your collection of Steam Railway magazines? Be well, J.David |

> Is that the two foot gauge, ex-Apache Powder 0-4-0F at Arizona Railroad Museum? JDC: Yes, that is the 3' gauge Apache #6 that I sold to the Arizona State RR Museum I guess in the 2010 time frame. #5 is still in Ohio last I heard. J.R. |
