What a great trip! Thanks so much for posting. It brought back happy memories for me from the time I was stationed in the Army at Ft Lewis Washington in 1963-64. I used to ride the pool service on weekends from Tacoma to Portland and back. The dog's dinner assortment of cars and engines were a delight in those pre-Amtrak days. I would spend most of the trips walking from one end to another through the train\, checking out the different equipment.
