Unfortunately the newly restored #6601 was vandalized this past weekend with graffiti :(
What are the best methods to get this off?

I'm sorry to see that happen to your car. I recently used paint thinner for a snowplow, which managed to remove just the spray paint but not the underlying coat. Nail polish remover can work as well. |

1) your "big box" hardware stores will stock a large variety of "graffiti removal" products, from aerosol spray to pump spray to pretreated rags. 2) most paint stores also sell products designed for this purpose, and their staff should be better than the big-box-store staff as to recommending what to use on stainless. 3) cheap and deadly (to both the graffiti and the user): acetone by the canful. 4) Read this thread for more useful info: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42300 5) get to it ASAP. The longer it sits, the harder it'll be to remove and the more it encourages more of the same. |

Here is our experience: - Try several different brands of graffiti removal products. Which one is best depends on which paints were sprayed on the car. - Start early in the morning, while the car is still cool. This lets the graffiti remover soak in as long as possible before drying out. - After the graffiti remover has had time to soften the paint, scrub with a non-abrasive pad (the sort you would use on good dishes). - Wear chemical splash-resistant goggles and appropriate gloves. - Paint remover usually contains methylene chloride. https://www.osha.gov/SLTC/methylenechloride/ It attacks eye tissue (causing permanent damage) much faster than it attacks paint. Wear goggles designed to protect against chemical splashes (they're different than ordinary goggles). If you don't have an eyewash, fill a 5-gallon bucket with clean water so you can dunk your head in it if you get splashed with paint remover. |

Presently working on a car with graffiti and we are using brush cleaner. Stubborn spots we use a scotchpad. |

From the pic it appears that parts of the windows and window sealing got tagged. These areas likely will require more caution as most gasketing/sealing materials will be attacked by the solvents listed. Know what materials your glazing and window sealing are and talk to someone who knows the removers to find a product that will not harm them. As previously mentioned, the sooner you get on this the better. |

Hit it with a steam cleaner. everything that blasts off doesn't need chemicals..... |

Ran to a local hardware store and they had Goof Off Graffiti remover and it works wonders! Thank you everyone for your suggestions! |
