I am trying to find out what happened to my great-grandfather's train that he drove for PRR in the late 50s through the early 60s. It was E-8a 4256. I was able to track the engine down to Conrail in the late 70s, (March of 1979 to be exact) but I haven't been able to find anything more about the train following that. Any help regarding this topic would be greatly appreciated! He also drove E-8a 5766, if anyone has information on that! Thank you! |

Hi, Both locomotives appear to have been scrapped sometime in the 1980's. However, a couple other PRR units survive that your great grandfather may have worked on. I hope this helps! Thomas Dyrek |
