On a visit yesterday to the Danbury Railway Museum I noticed their E9, "NYC 4096" was missing from the yard. I inquired to their staff and they told me it was being moved to Virginia as part of a new collection piece. A trainorders.com article says its being moved to the C&O Historical Society for a re-paint in C&O colors, can anyone confirm? Danbury volunteers also say their prized ex-SAL RSC2 is being moved down south as well, anyone have insight into this revelation? |

The Danbury Railway Museum owns neither the UP E9 nor the "prized ex-SAL RSC2". Both are owned by Vintage Locomotives Inc. The transfer of the E9 is the consummation of a transaction which began in the Spring of 2014 at the Spencer event. In exchange for the covered wagon Vintage Locomotives gets the C&O painted FP7 which has NC&StL heritage. |

The "NYC" locomotive departed around June 9, and was delivered to Clifton Forge on June 24. -otto- |

He has a bunch of locomotives floating around at different museums, and they do occasionally move about. On an unrelated note, they've got a new url for the website. Anyone interested will find it below; http://www.danburyrailwaymuseum.org/ |

DRM also doesn't own the FPA4 or B that have been repainted into CN colors. They too are VLIX owned. They do own the RS-1, RS-11, both 44 tonners, the SW-8, FA-1 and burned FL-9 #2006. I have gotten conflicting info on the ownership of RS3m #605 and FL-9 "NYC" #2013. They had been Metro North owned while there but I do believe DRM now officially owns them. I don't see MN having interest in those units anymore. I have gotten conflicting info on the operable condition of those two units too. Last info I was given was that 605 would blow oil out the stack and 2013 had a failed HEP radiator grid. As for 2006 I was told it had a HEP fire that heavily damaged the rear area. The prime mover is supposedly good but the rear truck suffered traction motor wiring damage that atleast renders the unit unoperable as just a locomotive. Repairs to the HEP and it's control and wiring would be additional. I have yet to see this unit in person to see how extensive the damage is but I'm curious. |

New website, but it doesn't tell what state they are in. I bet most states in the USA have a Danbury. |

If you scroll about half way down the first page there are multiple places where it states "Connecticut". Rob Gardner |
