If you're one of the thousands who volunteered to help the AFT display at one of its 138 display communities I wanted to extend an invitation to you to attend this years bi-annual reunion which is being held in Portland Oregon, Sep't. 16-19.

As this will be the 40th. anniversary of the AFT's journey it is attracting an unusually large turnout and should be a great event. Included in the weekends schedule is a private charter trip behind SP 4449, unveiling of an AFT exhibit at the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundations magnificent new roundhouse which now houses the Daylight, the SP&S 700 and other treasures, a cruise aboard a rare steam powered sternwheeler tugboat, a banquet and other fun stuff.

If you're interested in attending please write to Laurie McCormack ( meanljm@comcast.net) this years Chair and request the registration forms etc.

I hope to see many of you there. Best regards, Ross Rowland

The 40th. reunion chairwoman reports that all of the events are now sold out and at capacity.

I'm looking forward to a great time and to seeing many old friends again.

Thanks, Ross Rowland
