From 1930 to 1937 the Pacific Whaling Company sent out one or more specially equipped flat cars that each carried a small deceased blue whale. These were displayed, along with other live and preserved marine creatures, at large and small towns all over the USA and Canada. I'm looking for photos of the cars, presenters (actors in sailing attire) and crowds. Would appreciate any help getting magazine quality images and will cover costs associated with your help.

The book 'The Circus Moved by Rail' (Carstens) refers to several circuses that had 'whale cars' and had mummified whales on display for a time. I seem to remember at least one fuzzy picture in it.

There's mention of a mummified whale car in the Jun 1953 Billboard magazine (circus newsletter) that is digitized online, so they existed even that late.

The Billboard magazine archives online might have more clues. The June 28,1952 issues has an article in it on "whale shows" in the 1930's.
