Post subject:  25 Ton Ohio Crane Information Needed

We're looking to move a 25 Ton Ohio Crane and need information as to weights of the various large components. It will have to be trucked a short distance and will hopefully go in 3 loads: boom, cab, and frame/trucks.

If anyone has approximate weight information for these components that would be appreciated. Ohio Crane did not have the information in their archives unfortunately.

Here is a photo of the builders plate

The crane should weigh about 75 tons total. Contact the Oregon Coast Historical Railway Society Coos Bay, OR. They trucked a 25 ton steam Ohio about 4 years ago. Here is what I have on your crane:

4195 25 tons Gasoline 50’ boom 10-30-42
US Army #2524, Marion Engineer Depot Marion, OH
US Navy #84-00510 South Philadelphia, PA
(converted to diesel, retired 11-18-80)
Catskill Mountain RR #8301 Kinston, NY 10-83 $3434.34

Contact Dick Jamsgard at dickjamsgard@earthlink.net . Dick was in charge of trucking the 25 ton Ohio from Tacoma, WA to Coos Bay, OR.
