The new thread about the St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern efforts to restore their 2-4-2 number 5 got me to thinking. StLIM&S Number 5 actually started out as a tank engine (2-4-2T), but I seem to recall a museum down south, trying to restore a 2-4-2 steamer that was actually built as an engine with a tender, and not as a saddletank. Can't seem to recall or locate any info on it. Anyone recall and/or know of the projects current status?

Thanks.

Les

I believe you are thinking of former Holly Hill Lumber #15 (BLW c/n 41648), a long term project at the Savanna Roundhouse Museum...

J. David -

You are correct sir! Now if we could find out about progress on the restoration, that would be great.
