Hello All- I'm the current owner of ex-Conrail 18693, ex LV 95087, and I'd like to restore it as much as possible to how it looked when built. According to the previous owner, Paul Troutman, Conrail had done some things that he hadn't changed around yet. For example, the oil tank and oil stove are gone, but the water tank looks like it was most recently at the end of the car opposite of the stove, but it looks like there are mounts for the tank next to the stove. So, anyway, I'm looking to restore this car, and we'll be using it in revenue service on the Stewartstown Railroad. Does anyone have drawing of the interiors of these cabooses (cabin cars) from when they were built, or have any pictures, or can recommend any reference sources? Thanks in advance- Mike |

http://www.anthraciterailroads.org/lvrr ... /cabooses/ has info on the variations of LV NE Style Cabeese over the years. John Hall wrote a book on Reading Company Cabooses, which had a good amount of interior photographs of the Reading cars. They were similar, but maybe not exactly the same inside as the LV cars. |
