Sorry if this is a stupid topic of discussion, but I can't find on the Internet when most of the Cheyenne Steam shops and roundhouse was torn down for the Union Pacific. I can't find on the Internet when exactly most of it was torn down. Can someone help me find when exactly this happened? Again, sorry if this a stupid question, I can't seem to find it on the Internet anywhere.

Check out the book "The History of the Union Pacific Railroad in Cheyenne" by Robert Darwin.

It's all in there.

The book is rare as hens teeth however Jim Ehrenberger and Jack Wolff have just recently published a book on the Cheyenne steam facilities...cant find a reference to it at the moment, The roundhouse was demolished in stages thru 1966, 78 and 82, a shocking case of poor foresight, the steam shop half demolished in 1979.
