Last fall the Niagara Railway Museum Inc. acquired the cab from CN F7a #9173 from the Science and Tech Museum in Ottawa. In the spring the cab interior was cleaned and repainted and we started looking for the missing components, the Barco Speed recorder and air flow meter. We did have a few people respond about donating the speedo, but the shipping to us would be very costly. 2 weeks ago we were able to pic up the speedo and flow meter from a donor near Rochester. This weekend they were both installed into the cab. The flow meter was perfect, but the speed recorder is just a slightly different model than what the original was. However, seeing as how this is only a cab, and is for display only, it will work just fine. We are still missing the small electrical control box that was located beside the control stand (which we could replicate if we had a picture of one), and are in need of a reverser and proper brake handles. Our locomotive was commonly used on the steel trains between Hamilton and Nanticoke in an A-B-A F unit combination. Many of her sisters were maintained in our shop, and the cab has become a very popular display with our visitors.
