How do people feel about ATRRM? I don't think the line I'm involved with is a member however it may be beneficial to interface with other organizations and see how they handle some things. Does anybody have any experiences, positive or negative, about the organization? |

Networking and sources. If you think you don't need either, just shut your doors now. By all means attend. |

Can't this year unfortunately. Of course, I'm not in the business professionally any longer either. I'm trying to get officials in the organizations I am an unofficial part of to attend. It's that worthwhile. Have an extra pint for me. |

This hotel has a really nice bar so there should be plenty of pints and shots for everyone... Anyone for a round of Guinness? |

Mark, name the date and time and I'll join you for that round. For what it's worth, ATRRM is an excellent place to meet folks from other organizations and learn and trade ideas. Plenty of information and fun to be had. Also, participating in the conference tours opens doors that are normally closed to all but the privileged few. On the Montreal trip, the spouses who went on the Ottawa alternative tour got to visit the Parliamentary Library in Ottawa. Unlike the Library of Congress, the Parliamentary Library is not open to the public. That is the quality that conference organizers create for attendees. |

I'm really looking forward to us hosting what sounds like will be an awesome convention at IRM! I hardly know anyone from any other operations around the country, so I'm definitely looking forward to networking and sharing information. See you in September! Jeron G. IRM Diesel Dept |

ATRRM's value to you, twists on the question of whether your organization wants to interchange knowledge and contacts with (read: learn from) the elders in their field. Some do not. |

Some do not. Well said Mr. MacDowell. Some people are still in the mindset that information is power, and thus do not want to exchange information, in order to hold on to power. And there are some who have volunteered knowledge only to get a negative reception from younger folks who "know it all" and are turned off by that attitude. The path to success in information gathering is to recognize and admit that you don't know as much as you think you do and be open to receiving additional information. That information may not always be correct, but that can only be determined once the information is received. |
