| Post subject: | Walkersville Southern engine failure |
Small Maryland excursion road Walkersville Southern has lost its primary engine, 25-ton Davenport #2, for the remainder of the season. After suffering a failure on the last train of the day on Sunday, September 19, the engine was returned to the shop. Upon disaasembly, it was found that the crankshaft on the locomtive's Caterpiller diesel had broken.
Repairs on the #2 will take place during the off season; for the remainder of 1999, regular assignments will be held down by WSRR#1, a 1942 18-ton Plymouth.
eledbetter@rypn.org |
