I see a negative of the loco currently on Ebay.

This Vulcan 0-4-0 arrived at Mid-Continent Ry Museum in 1965, according to the museum website. It was originally a Dupont Company switcher.

Comparing the Ebay negative to photos on the museum website, I think it dates from 1965 to 1970.

A post from 2010 explains why the #6 is partly disassembled today. I won't bump that thread because its information isn't current due to MC's recent locomotive auction.

The CIPS #6 was another members project. He got it running and then tore it apart with the intention of a full rebuild. Again it was going to be "his" project. Got it tore apart and lost interest I guess. This one wouldn't take much to put back together and have running. Not so many moving parts on a 0-4-0 tank engine.

Agreed. It is what the #6 needs too.

In another recent thread it is talked about the "too far gone" locomotives. The CIPS #6 is a prime example. To some it is to far gone. Yes it needs work and the stolen parts need to be replaced. Someone has been cutting parts off of her in the last couple of years. I noticed this a while ago but such is the life of this locomotive. Most people think her "too far gone". Maybe that is why it is ok to steal parts off of her? I have read some so called "evaluations" and find them rather wrong about this one. Most of the parts are around, but the recently cut off parts might be gone for good. Anybody know anybody who might be trying to restore their sister engine to the #6. Don't mean this as any kind of accusation, just want to find out who is doing this or who gave the ok to do this?

RI lines I like the shirt. Regards, John.
