The Heber Valley RR has done a very nice job rehabbing coach #324, a former Lackawanna MU trailer. Outshopped this past December, it has a nice new pullman green paint job, all new upholstery on the original seats, new wooden doors at each end, and updated with propane heat and a modern RV type toilet. A good photo of it can be seen here:

I saw this car a little over a year ago. Then, both vestibules and steps were being rebuilt. The work was impressive, with lots of new metal going in to replace rot.

In other news, 618 is being converted to burn oil. It is expected to return to service this July.

My girlfriend and I rode in #324 over the holidays a few months ago. HVRR's done a nice job restoring it, and two of their other cars and painting them into more historic- looking colors (dark green with yellow lettering.) vs. the bright red and light gray the rolling stock used to wear.
