By all accounts, just about all the equipment at Pemberton is headed to safe havens of one sort or another. Only the tank car and gondola appear headed for scrap, although I have lost track of the flat car. The 45 and 100 ton GE locomotives are now owned by Allied Recycling and they have been beating the bushes to find potential buyers for the locomotives as complete units. Sounds like they will sell parts at some point if the locomotives do not sell. Yes, its been via craigslist and ebay, but at least they are trying. Their web site is http://www.alliedrecyclingnj.com/ so if you have an interest, give them a call. They seem like very nice people and are willing to work with potential buyers. They do have a yard where the locomotives could be stored if a buyer needed to make an intermediate move while generating cash for a longer term solution. Please, let’s make sure this thread does not become locked. The purpose is to get the word out on available locomotives and to share some somewhat good news on the status of the other equipment. The 1923, single dome tank car. Lettered for "Tidewater". Let's hope it finds a good home. Sure would look good at HVRM! And thanks very much for referencing the photo of the restored Tidewater Oil tank car at Strasburg. The photo explains Mr. Ed's comment on another Pemberton thread about the car being a "Flying A" tank car! Les |

Or else a place like the Rochester & Genesee Museum. Too bad there have been no takers. Sounds like time is almost up. Help! As of last week the tank car had not yet been cut up. Red Lion owns it and it looks like they picked it up for $2000. Can't hurt to make an offer. Web page is: http://www.redlionmetals.com/ J.R. |

For what it is worth, the tank car and gondola have apparently met their fate. Both are now gone from the site. |

The two locomotives are not long for this world either. The scrapper told me today that he has had a lot of interest in parts, but nothing for the whole pieces. Matt Bumgarner |
