There is one thing that I will not hide about myself as a person; I am not perfect. In fact, I doubt that I ever will be. At the same time, I do try to be the very best that I can be. Thus, I enjoy making videos and sharing them with all of you as my real goal in life is to be known as a person who was willing to share anything I have, with anybody who asks.

This new video is by far not our best video. Rather than having all of you point out the minor flaws, I will do it for you! Yes, I could use more words. Yes, I got a few terms wrong. Yes, I have a few words that I miss-used. It is true, for all of this there is simply no excuse.

If you will allow me to explain the mental process of this video, it may help all of us enjoy it more for what it is....rather than making it into what it simply is not.

Truth be know; I speak very little if any Spanish. The great folks in Ecuador speak very little if any English. Having learned and studied Polish and German, my mind, when placed in foreign language mode, reverts to those two languages. Spanish has thrown me a real curve ball. When I speak with the natives, I try to use words that are common, easy and similar to the words that they use. So, when I have a translator, like I did in Ecuador, I try to keep my language simple, so that we can all understand. Well, that simplicity has carried over into this video and is the root cause for the minor mistakes you will see.

We do the videos so that you can see what we get to see. I don't do them for fame, glory, notice or awards. I simply do them because I enjoy making them and I enjoy sharing my adventures.

It is my hope that you will enjoy the next few videos of this great journey.

John, just want to thank you for the invite to check out your web page and video's. Don't own a locomotive yet {and hopefully never do}, so I never felt the need to check it out. Have a love affair for old machine tools and couldn't wait to come home and check out the video of the steam shop. I would love to see this place, but will have to settle for Nevada Northern some day soon. Can't imagine a shop with a working overhead crane and rooms full of spare parts. Thanks for the video. The place looks a lot better than when I was there in 2007. I'm so glad they have kept it locked and guarded during this whole time of waiting. So much history has been preserved. I can't wait to see how things progress. I assume that even though the boilers are going to Ecuador that you are building them to ASME code?

The diesel behind the 2-6-0 looked a lot like one of the 1,300 Hp diesels that stalled in the high altitude tunnels in Peru.
