Hello, ....stumbled across this video on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHjAT2_7ALY Interesting "stack talk".....more like a jet airliner. Also it was running a bit rich. They were saving water but not coal! Here is another..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYEhFeFOeBs Notice the screen over the condenser fans keeping the loose coal from being launched! And a third....7th video down the list...a 25C is quickly followed by a 25NC showing the difference. The 25NC sports the long sleek tender which originally was a condenser tender but with the gear removed. http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/video/southafricavideoclip.htm I believe the 3511 still exists with the orginal condenser gear....I believe the only one remaining so fitted. Maintenance heavy but an interesting adventure into advanced steam design. Regards, Randy |
