I just acquired a builders plate Marked Gas-Electric Motor Car The Electro-Motive Co Cleveland O Serial-M-16 No-248 Date 1-21-28 It is 6.5 x 3.75 " On the back is written in marker pen Car 2506 C&A? or C&O? Dec 19?? Does anyone know what this plate came off or if it is a motor car builders plate or engine builders plate?

As EMC wasn't building its own engines back then, it would be from a doodlebug.

C&A would be the Chicago & Alton, a B&O controlled road that ended up being merged into the GM&O.
