I know Alco PA's 16 & 18 were brought back to the US for restoration and the 18 is being gradually being restored to NKP 190 but I'm curious if anything is going on with the 16? Haven't heard or seen anything on it in a long time. Anyone have any news about the 16??? |

Let me add my request for anyone with information about what's going on with PA #16. Last I heard she was still languishing at Albany, OR., basically untouched since Doyle put her on the extra set of A-1-A trucks he had in about 2001. My understanding is that putting #16 on trucks was where his involvement in the project ended-- the Smithsonian was responsible for any further restoration. A rumor circulated about 2004 or so that she may have been destined for display in Kansas City, but I guess nothing came of that either. |
