What has happened to the cars at Willits, California? On the north end of the NWP? The town wanted to clean them out? I've just been told there were two GN ranch cars there. What else is there?

There is an ex-GN Ranch car at the Roots of Motive Power collection in Willits:

Not sure if there is another one in the yard.

As a former sales rep for VIA Rail Canada, I remember the Great Western Tours people from the early 80's. I'm sorry to learn what happened to their company, and their fleet of cars, but am delighted to know about the rescue of the Great Northern Ranch car.

My only personal experience with one of them was aboard the San Francisco Zephyr in 1975. It was the lounge car between Chicago and Denver, and I've never seen a lounge car like it before or since. It was still in GN colors.
