I'm looking for a diagram from the Mechancal department of a MHC a 1400 series car.
My second question is since this is a high speed box car and it was run on the North east corridor what were the maxium speeds it was run.

I believe they were good for 110 mph max. I know that I used to ride behind them at that speed on the NEC when I was an LSA. Getting rid of them is one thing that is making it really hard to find trains in the corridor that one can put a heritage private car on the rear of, since just about every train that runs beyond NYP now is allowed 125 mph. Between DC and NYP the Florida trains are pretty much it for trains that have heritage baggage cars that are limited to 110 mph.

I think someone told me or maybe I read somewhere that some of the mail handling cars were built on trucks from old REA Express cars. Does anyone know if this is the case?

The 1400 series cars were placed on rebuilt ex-REA trucks purchased from Ed Burkhardt's San Luis Central in Colorado.
