"New Heritage Trolley" seems a bit extreme... The Happy Hollow extension of the Kelly Park Trolley is wonderful, but it is just an extension of an existing line within the same park... For those of you not aware of the line it is a nice previously short loop through a reconstructed historic Victorian village made up of reproduction buildings and houses moved in from elsewhere. They have 4 streetcars, including a Portuguese 4 wheel "Brill", a birney, and 2 early local 8 wheel cars. They were the shop that rebuilt the cars occsionally used on San Jose's light rail. Much of the work was done under the supervision of the late Fred Bennett. They are associated with the group rebuilding the SP Pacific. They also have a SP 0-6-0 and recently were given "Little Buttercup" a ATSF 0-4-0 from CSRM. |
