I just wanted to point out to the RYPN participants that the Newcomen Society, which published many addresses made by the leaders of American industry at its meetings, also periodically issued index booklets that list all of their speakers and their topics. These occasionally show up on eBay (and copies are also sold at absurd prices by internet information services) and are very useful to identify topics of interest. One particularly useful booklet is their index of publications issued in 1961, the year the society was incorporated. That index listed all the booklets they had published since 1933, including many talks by railroad executives, management of the locomotive builders, and chief executives of many other US companies. Many of these talks were about the history of the speakers industries, and are very valuable for the historical perspective that they provide.

Watch for these items on eBay, they show up occasionally and are very useful research sources.

If anyone wants to purchase any Newcomen booklets, let me know. After Newcomen closed, their library was donated to NMIH. The donation included a large stock of booklets that they had been selling, and are allowing us to continue to sell.
