I was watching a youtube video earlier of an Alco FA-1 in a deadlline in Brazil #3201 apparently shot in 1997 This thing looked pretty stripped but the carbody looked in reasonable shape Does anyone know if it is still in existance? Also Brazil has a number of Alco RS-1s and RS-3s which are still operating

I'd like to know too! Here are 2 1995 photos, the second shows more of what they had. Both from 1995 according to Fallen Flags:

Recent information indicates that these locomotives are gone-rendered for scrap when the world price for #1 iron hit the magic $ 300/ ton. I've seen photos of the Paulista electrics rolled on their sides by vandals in order to simplify the picking.

Are we certain these are FA's and not PA's?

The Brazilian PA's had front numberboards cut into the carbody (rather than surface-mounted) much like an EMD E8/9. They also had slatted steam-locomotive-type pilots for some reason. The curved grille behind the cab door would be a spotting feature too. Supposedly 2 of the 3 PA's sent to Brazil are in some state of preservation. Anybody have any recent information on them?
