Bob Harbison's comment summed the project up the best.

We're not gamblers nor golfers and it was close by. The reason it wasn't published is we did not know if we could finish because there was a tentative contract on the traction motors that could have been exercised at any day while we were about our business, ending the project.

The Chinese red gloss latex (Valspar) was $27/gallon, museum quality paint would have been $150/gallon +.

If we hadn't done it they way we did, it would not have happened.

As one who has blown his time and money in my own "labors of love", I just wanted to say you guys are great!!!
