Possibly an ex-CNJ car as well as DL&W? I took these on Sunday, April 19th, at Derby Shops, Milo, Maine. The car has been sitting in storage for several years now. There is some rust damage along the sills and vandals have done the usual, pointless, desecration. I am told that this car is going to be moved soon, but I have no official word. Evidently, this was once part of a restaurant before being returned to the rails. I hope the fates have good intentions for this old girl. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyone have information? She needs to be secured before she moved anywhere. |

Hi, CNJ/DL&W #99 was Perry Shoemaker's car. It was part of the hotel at the P&LE station in Pittsburgh. It was removed and stored in Newport, Vermont for awhile. It was rumored to be going to Arizona and I have heard some other things but I am not at liberty to discuss as I do not have any details. Rob |

The DLW "Belford" No. 99 was owned by the Smithsonian Institution from about 1969-1975, and was donated by Peter Bell. The car was used by the secretary of the SI to commute from his home in Connecticut to Washington but was stored most of the time at Washington Union Terminal. When the costs of storing the car there became out of reach it was disposed of as SI property. As Rob said, it spent some time in Pittsburgh at Station Square before going to New England. K.R. Bell |
