Wow, that was a very quick turn around! That boiler hasn't been on the property for more then six months right? What else is the Strasburg Railroad doing to the boiler? Are you retubing it?

While the entire rebuild of the G5s is tied up between the Strasburg, RMLI, and the County of Suffolk, I'll publicly hope that Strasburg finds a way to offer rebuilding the frame and assemble the whole thing for service. After 50 years in retirement and partial disassembly, it would be great to see another PRR design in steam again. Strasburg Railroad rocks!

Maybe 475 will get its N&W tender lettering back too? The "fresh" black strip of paint with the N&W-inspired Strasburg lettering on the tender looks a bit... odd.

Ah, the nitpicky foamer that I am.

But seriously though, this isn't directly on topic to this thread, but I have been wondering about that, is that magnetic lettering on the tender that can/could be taken off (for example, for another photographers special), or is it painted over (with the newer paint over the N&W lettering)? Any answers would be much appreciated.

Is Strasburg contracted to do enough work on the 39 to the point of a test fire or will they have to wait until the engine is back in Riverhead?
