I believe the last thing the HT&W did before it was torn up was help move materials and equipment for the construction of the Yankee Rowe Atomic Power Plant, which I believe was completed in 1961. Yankee was one of the early civil nuclear power plants in the U.S. It was also the first one to be decommissioned and disassembled, and a few years ago GRS hauled the reactor vessel away on a flatcar to Barnswell, SC for disposal. |
