March 31st, 2009 was a milestone in the rehabilitation of BCER 1225. Volunteer hours reached the 10 000 mark. Sold to the OERM in 1958 after the making the final scheduled run in Vancouver, the interurban returned in August 2005.

Having helped load 1225 for its "repatriation" journey, I've been following the progress photos posted by Bob Ashton of FVRHS (there's a link on the FVRHS website). Lots of good work being done! Hats off to FVRHS!

Thanks, for the support, Bob. I took a little bit of 1225 back to OERM in February and gave it to John.
We hope a number of ARM members will add our car barn as a location to visit during the 2009 convention in Vancouver. Bill Watson, of WCR (the host organization) is putting together a schedule for the tour.

I must admit to some confusion. OERM -- Orange Empire or Oregon Electric?

Robert, I can understand your confusion. According to their website, they'll soon have two BCER interurbans from OERM, the 1225 from the Orange Empire Railway Museum and the 1304 from the Oregon Electric Railway Museum.

I'd like to add my kudos to the great work that's being done on the 1225 and the acquisition of the 1304.

Charlie
