I remember climbing up on her as a kid at Steamtown USA, VT.

I thought she was a valid part of the collection and should have been held on to...

On the flip side she is cared for and under cover.....That is hard to beat.

Much, much improved! Did they build a new cab for her? Any better side shots? I wonder if Union Pacific ever wanted to acquire this piece, I believe she is the oldest extant equipment from the UP, yes?

Someday it would be wonderful to see the new UP 119, either 844 or 3985, and E9, the 6936, and a modern diesel engine all aside one another. Wouldn't that be an amazing gathering and make for some wonderful photos? CN did something similar in the 1960s I believe?

Folks,

I am glad to see something good happening to that UP locomotive, she never did very well at Steamtown, either in vermont or in Pennsylvania.

By the way the Santa Fe baggage car that is just visible in the edge of the picture is the car that we had at Rio Vista for many years as our Archives storage car.

Glad to see that she is still under cover.

Is that boiler tube pilot newly fabricated? Anyone know who did it?

She is a real boomer. It's good to see that she is doing well.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

What struck me about this photo is the nice display shelter; simple, yet big enough for "trainshed" feel, and nicely finished with brick pavers and what appears to be planking between the rails.
