Post subject:  source for ground joint pipe fittings?
Does anyone know where to get these? MSC Industrial Supply has a small selection, 3/4" to 2" in threaded, unfortunately, even the 3/4" is WAY too big. <br>Looks like another Sunday in front of the lathe...<br>

they didn't have it according to the guy I spoke with, and don't have a printed catalog out yet....<br>I do highly recommend MSC.<br>www.mscdirect.com<br>They have a HUGE catalog, locations around the country, and have way more stuff than McMaster Carr, and lots of stuff is about 1/2 McMaster's price, esp. large drill bits and reamers. <p>Lots of this stuff we deal with just isn't made that way anymore, like valves with tapered threads that are from bolts, i.e., 1 1/8" x 12, not NPT, etc. <p>Even the ground joints I ordered from MSC didn't match the original on top of the lubricator. In the local search, if I had had about one more yay-hoo suggest that I heli-arc something on top of the bronze lubricator, I would probably be typing this from jail. <p><br>I do have pretty good luck finding the stuff inside round stock - that is, making it. The lathe I use and the goat were made within a couple years of each other, so they get along pretty good. <p>I have to wonder if there's enough demand for a small production run on some of this stuff. <p>Rudd<br><br>
