Very old and very new Narva Green on a '49 GMC. Looks like Scarlet on that hubcap as well...

FP-7 #905 apparently still had its original but somewhat faded Narva Green paint early in 1961. The CNJ may have used Scarlet also but I'm not even going there right now...

Just farting around with the Woodfield Green for a moment. I never saw a picture of the two side-by-side but now I have... LOL

93-224 Yellow is causing some serious speculation this morning. LOL I guess this color is supposed to sit above 5248 on the chip charts and not below it. Whether or not 224 is identical to 93-5607 remains yet to be determined as I'd need to see an actual 224 chip and compare the two directly.

A slightly less dubious match, perhaps, but hey, why not?... LOL

That Bob Krone pic of #274 is dated as 1957. As far as I can tell, only the lead unit is in Woodfield while the rest are in Narva. The two in the middle are a bit of a toss-up but I'll take a chance on the faded handrails...

LMFAO!!! It took almost a year on here and 18 pages of thread but I know where the Grande Gold is now. It's a little bit harder to spot combined with those Seven-Uppity hues of green...

The reason being, I believe, is that the 224 chip throws off a slightly greenish cast as demonstrated here on the 1969 chart. The 5607 chip I have does the exact same thing in person when held up to the light correctly.

I'll have to take a closer look at 78134 one of these days in that it appears to be a very bright, clean yellow like on that little Chevy Colbalt I posted awhile back. 93-60680 is just 5248 in disguise... LOL

Yeah, it's not quite as tough to see any longer even though there ain't much of it. It doesn't help if the pictures are green, either. LOL

Looks like the PC may have used 54701 or 6808 as their safety yellow...

Just a reminder that was the final time the three remaining FP-7's were redone in the mid-seventies and might be where the listed 246 and 254-prefix paint codes came from unless they were extrapolated from the WP and Rio Grande. By that time, however, DuPont was using the more modern number/letter codes.

The F units seem to have had a bit of trouble holding on to their new Woodfield paint which only adds to the intrigue, or else they just didn't like it. LOL It's pretty much all eroded off the tail end of #250 and #251 has almost rejected it altogether.

If you turn the saturation way up, you can really see it...

I certainly wouldn't mind figuring out the Katy's yellow since we already know what the green is. LOL Since it seems to sit well within the realm of the Reading yellows, right now 78134 would be my primary suspect...

Soooo, unless anyone here has any further objections, I'm officially calling this one good...

For my first anniversary on here, a little retribution for that old UPS truck that clobbered me immediately after I joined the site. I'll admit it was at least partially my fault for choosing to play on the paint color expressway without a helmet but hey, like they say, paybacks are a bitch. LOL

Anyway, 93-6578 Federal Yellow isn't their lettering color, either. Good ol' 95-014 Imitation Gold is, however, and probably the most common alternative example you can find these days...

2015 GMC Brewster Green is a tough one to match up with chips on old photos due to the nature of the color but with a little gamma correction chicanery here and there, it can be done. If you stand back from the monitor a little bit, you can really see it...
