Ralph also did a volume II, The Palace Cars, published in 1990 IIRC. Ralph's work is fantastic and he intended to publish more volumes, but there was some issues about expense for photos and plan reproductions. Definitely one of those worthwhile projects that makes me wish I had enough money to be a philanthropist for preservation and historical research. I was only 19 when I first met Ralph at the Great Scale Train show in Timonium and he explained the fate of future volumes due to the expense.

BTW, I have all three mentioned above, as well as the Dubin volumes and all Randall volumes on Pullman, ACF, and Budd if anyone needs to know something. I didn't check this thread till after HP already supplied the answer. Another great reference is the database at the Pullman Project.

Other books by Bill Kratville include Passenger Car Catalog: Pullman Operated Equipment 1912-1949 Kratville Publications, 1968. This book has builder's side views of the various cars, a (very) reduced floor plan (some are cut and paste) of the cars and a paragraph type list of the car names in each order. Also photos of trucks, AC units, battery boxes, and end views.

Kratville also did a massive book on the UP streamliners. And he has authored books on UP steam power.

Ralph L. Barger also did a book on the UP business cars.

Robert Wagner of New York is also a publisher of self-authored books on railroad passenger cars. He recently issued a book on passenger cars that went to Mexico. Previously he did Car Names, Numbers and Consists about lightweight cars and trains. Also he has published an all-time list of Pullman heavyweight cars with dispositions. And other booklets about passenger cars.

I have a good collection of books about Pullmans and other passenger cars that I've been collecting for more than 40 years. Wonderful source for answering questions.
