NYO&W's Munnsville Station is for sale: 6324 E Hill Road, Munnsville, NY 13409

I've been there a number of times, since my family is friends with John Taibi, and it's a beautiful restoration. Hopefully whoever gets it maintains it to his standard and doesn't make changes to the level of the O&W depot in Sylvan Beach, which is nigh unrecognizable.

The reason the depot is named "Munns" is that the O&W had issues with mail and deliveries destined for Munnsville and Mannsville ending up at the wrong spots due to agents misreading the handwriting, so the NYO&W shortened Munnsville to Munns to alleviate confusion. Amusingly, when I saw John last summer, he mentioned that when he bought the depot in the '90s and was restoring it, he was still living on Long Island working for the post office and driving up north on weekends to get the depot repaired and livable. One Friday one of his coworkers went, "Hey, John, you can take this package up to Munnsville with you and deliver it yourself." He looked at the package, then looked closer and saw the address was in Mannsville, so apparently, it was still an issue decades later.
